Players may have a friend at any time drop in and use their own save date from the game to join in on the fun of killing some baddies. Unfortunately we weren’t able to play online cooperatively with anyone but we were able to play same screen co-op and we will say it was handled very well. You may forget most of the Victor Vran: Overkill Edition’s story, but thanks to some clever designs in terms of lore and the expansions, Victor’s story isn’t by any means bad. As Victor Vran: Overkill Edition and we here at Honey’s Anime advise to you, save the Fractured World expansion for later on as it requires at least a level twenty character to be successful in. Thanks to the fact that Victor Vran: Overkill Edition’s neat feature of being able to switch between any of the three stories at any time, players can easily avoid getting to bored of any of three. Our most fun came from the Motorhead: through the Ages expansion which gives the most unique story and probably the oddest one all cumulating into a solid experience. The main story isn’t that bad but overall suffers at times from generic ideas and Fractured World expansion fairs about the same. Let us also not forget about the story of Victor Vran: Overkill Edition. However, in the end while the sound of Victor Vran: Overkill Edition may not please everyone, it still does an adequate job.

Fractured World, Victor Vran: Overkill Edition’s other included expansion fairs about the same. Each of the expansions pack also offers new music and while we were happy to hear a popular tune being played during the Motorhead: Through the Ages in the form of Ace of Spades hearing that tune over and over did begin to kind of annoy more than fill our souls with metal glory. The same can be said of the music which ranges from generic to okay. In terms of voice acting, while Victor’s inner voice acts as narrator and comedic relief and some of the expansion pack voices aren’t bad, most end up being laughably bad. Sound wise is where Victor Vran’s Tale suffers a bit.

While Victor Vran: Overkill Edition may not always look as good as say Diablo III, it still has an impressive tone more times than not. However, that doesn’t mean some dungeons don’t have a unique flair as there are some impressive stages, especially noticeable in the expansions packs that come in the Overkill Edition. This is very noticeable in some of the darker dungeons. While the environments, enemies and characters look solid, the art style won’t appeal to everyone and sometimes looks downright old. Graphically Victor Vran: Overkill Edition is a mixed bag. Victor Vran: Overkill Edition may have a lot of common Action RPG traits similar to other titles yet it does enough to show that it has its own title and we here at Honey’s Anime think that is where Victor Vran: Overkill Edition truly shines over some of the other popular titles of the genre.

What this sums up to is that despite areas being vary generic in nature, the usual dark prison or haunted town, players will care more about how to defeat a specific challenge. While some are pretty easy, there are a few that can be quite frustrating and will require some serious use of Victor’s various different abilities. These can range from killing a specific number of an enemy type, a timed event in terms of hunting an amount of creatures and the list goes on. In terms of more advanced gameplay mechanics, players will find there is a lot of fun in just mindlessly killing enemies thanks to in game challenges that require specific actions from the player. Alongside that lie Destiny Cards, different outfits, useable items and demon powers that can be combined into two separate equipment slots for some truly interesting combos. This amounts to a wide range of choices in play style which is necessary thanks to the ability of co-op.

#Victor vran ps4 review series
Unlike traditional Action RPGs and or the Diablo series where players can choose multiple classes, Victor is the only main class but can be tweaked by giving him different weapons such as swords, scythes, guns, hammers and even more in the various expansions, especially Motorhead: through the Ages which gives players guitars and revolvers. What makes Victor Vran: Overkill Edition so much fun lies in some clever design choices. Players assume the role of the game’s only character, Victor, and must fight through various areas of the kingdom in search for clues. Victor Vran: Overkill Edition plays like a typical action RPG title.
